Alberta Solar Showcase - Lasso the Sun

The Alberta Solar Showcase wraps up 20 successful new grid-connected solar PV installations on highly-visible municipal buildings around Alberta. The Showcase was an exciting renewable energy demonstration project, funded by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, that involved 20 municipal organizations across the province.

The project has helped inform and educate municipal leaders, administrative staff, facility maintenance personnel, electrical inspectors and utility providers, and assisted in building capacity and experience within the local solar industry. The 20 solar PV sites have the potential to generate an estimated 30,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity and reduce 26 tonnes of GHG emissions annually.
